50th Annual Historic Selma Dallas County Tour of Homes
March 20-21, 2026
The Selma–Dallas County Historic Preservation Society invites the public to celebrate a Golden Anniversary at the 50th Annual Historic Selma–Dallas County Tour of Homes, taking place March 20–21, 2026, in Selma, Orrville, and West Dallas County.
This milestone event showcases six remarkable historic homes, built between 1825 and 1854, representing rare Plantation “I” House, Antebellum, and Tidewater Cottage styles. Set amid the scenic countryside divided by the Cahaba and Alabama Rivers, the tour offers a rare opportunity to step inside homes that tell the story of early Alabama settlement and architectural heritage.
In addition to home tours on Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM, ticket holders may enjoy museum and partner-site tours throughout the weekend, including the historic Vaughan-Smitherman Museum, Sturdivant Hall Museum, and guided tours at Old Cahawba Archaeological Park. Art lovers can also visit the Selma Art Guild for a special exhibit featuring baskets and artwork by April McCartney and other local artists.
The weekend includes a festive Friday evening Gala at the Vaughan-Smitherman Museum, featuring refreshments, live music by Sarah Blackmon, a silent auction, and a keynote address by Major General Walter D. Givhan, USAF (Ret.), a Selma native with a distinguished military and civic career.
Tickets are available at Eventbrite.com. This once-in-a-generation Golden Anniversary celebration promises history, hospitality, and unforgettable Southern charm.
This milestone year promises an unforgettable experience—make plans now to be part of it!
